A collaborative mixed-media animation created for the non-profit Welcome.US, raising awareness of the challenges refugees face on their journey to the United States.

The film follows an Afghan family’s path to the U.S., told through their daughter’s memories of life in Afghanistan and the events that led to their evacuation.

Dr. Maya Angelou’s line — “a rainbow in somebody’s cloud” — is carried visually throughout the film, grounding the story without softening the reality of the journey.
